Roy began making beautiful landscape paintings from his slides and photographs taken while backpacking and mountain climbing in the High Sierras.

He enjoys painting outdoors and paints and travels frequently.

Roy states “I would like to thank my Lord and savior Jesus Christ not only for his love and forgiveness but for bringing out the artistic abilities I now have.”

Associations Roy belongs to are:  the Southern California Plein Air Painters Association (SOCALPAPA), San Gabriel Fine Arts Assn,  T.E.A.M. A national group of art instructors, and is a  master instructor certified by Alexander Art, and is
 a teaching partner with Chartpak, makers of Grumbacher paints and brushes..

Roy is a popular workshop instructor and frequent guest  instructor at  Yosemite National Park  and workshops around the country.. Check the calendar for this years dates.
